Psychological Assessment
Psychological assessment, also called psychological testing, is the process of gathering information about your psychological functioning to clarify if you have a mental health disorder. Common reasons to have psychological testing include:
Diagnostic clarity (determine if you have a particular disorder, such as ADHD)
Evaluate cognitive abilities
Inform treatment plan
Identify strengths and weaknesses
Satisfy third-party's demand (e.g., fitness for duty, accommodation)
Psychological testing usually includes meeting with a psychologist for several hours, completing various questionnaires, and providing your other medical/mental health records for review.
