Couple Therapy

Couple Counseling

Couple Counseling, which is also called "couple therapy" or "marriage counseling," is a type of therapy designed to help improve your romantic relationship. There are many different goals for couple counseling, which may include increasing sexual satisfaction, improving communication, recovering from an affair, rebuilding trust, pre-marital counseling, and problem-solving ways to resolve differences (e.g., finances, parenting, in-laws, spirituality, politics). Both partners will need to be willing and able  to join the sessions. Typically, the first 4 sessions are assessment sessions where the psychologist will meet with you together and individually to determine if you are a good fit for couple counseling. Once you complete the assessment phase, you may meet with your psychologist weekly or every other week  for  50-minute sessions. You may have assignments to complete between sessions to help you apply what you learned into your daily life.
